Aparna & Gurbinder - A Tale of Two Weddings

The COVID-19 pandemic brought about many uncertainties when it came to couples who had planned for their wedding to take place in 2020. Aparna Suhag and Gurbinder Jassar were one of those couples. I connected with Aparna via social media, and we had an instant connection. Not only did we help to plan & execute a superb wedding weekend for all, but we gained two new amazing friends!

Wedding planning began immediately. We flew to Cancun, and met with Aparna & Gurbinder, where we conducted a full site-visit. We were able to meet with all the different vendors - decorators, florists, catering, henna, and more!

But then the pandemic hit and that's when the uncertainty started. Aparna & Gurbinder. We first postponed the wedding to August 2020 and then July 2021. And we didn't let this put a damper on wedding planning at all!

Aparna made her way to New Jersey before her wedding, which was a great time to spend with her! Not only did we eat our way thru some of the best food in Edison, but we also had a successful shopping trip (or two...or three)...! I had a sneak peak at her wedding outfits and we also got her wedding shoes via Christian Louboutin!

It was definitely a great trip and good way to unwind before the wedding! Fast-forward a few months and it was time to head to Cancun!

We flew into Cancun International airport, where we were met with Shaadi Destinations. We arrived at the Hard Rock Cancun and the wedding festivities were ii full form! Aparna was just finishing her bridal henna when we got there. The first large event for their wedding was the sangeet. It took place on the rooftop, which gave guests a gorgeous view of the ocean! The sangeet ended with a beautiful fireworks display!

On July 3, 2021, Aparna & Gurbinder, had not one --- but two beautiful weddings in Cancun, Mexico. The day began with a traditional Sikh wedding, followed by a Hindu wedding ceremony. Gurbinder had his energetic baraat, which was lead by MC Tirath and DJ Gaurav of Premier Entertainment. Guests danced their way up to the Hard Rock hotel and into the ballroom.

After the Sikh ceremony, guests had the opportunity to change, while the room was re-set for the Hindu ceremony. While Gurbinder may have had his baraat before the Siikh ceremony, Aparna's close friend definitely create a memorable moment, as he was the "flower guy" before she walked down the aisle.

Post-weddings, Aparna & Gurbinder opted to have a pool party, so that their friends & family could have a night to unwind, but still save the real reception festivities for later. On Sunday evening, Aparna & Gurbinder hosted a grand reception for all. It was the perfect way to end the wedding weekend!

We are beyond grateful that Aparna & Gurbinder chose us to work with them to help plan their special day. Below is a list of all of the vendors who were a part of this special weekend! Thank you to everyone who helped to make this wedding memorable for the Suhag & Jassar family!
